Wyvern Fixes

r33.02 has been released with fixes on Wyvern code:

  • Save / load fixes for collar not spawning on old save files.
  • Made it even more difficult to get wyvern collar off after you’ve bred the first time.
  • Save / load fix for never progressing to second phase of wyvern TF after breeding.  Note – if you have a late stage wyvern TF from save files from r33 and/or r33.01, you will probably need to breed again in order to activate the second phase TFs.

Female Breeding Wyvern TF

r33 adds a new transformation brave researchers can undergo:

After wearing a collar in the debug rooms labeled “Female Breeder Wyvern #562,” the researcher will find themselves shifting.

Their toes will become claws, while their skin develops a mixture of scales, feathers, and fur. A thick tail will grow, swishing around invitingly and drawing attention to their newly plump butts from any nearby potential mates. If they weren’t already female, they’ll become so with two rows of massive breasts and a vagina large enough to mate with a male wyvern.

It’s still possible for the researcher to escape, but their new breeding instincts will be difficult to fight. If they succumb to their base desires, the remaining transformations will forever mark them as a wyverness. Arms will become wings, hands into rigid wingtips. They’ll stand on digitigrade legs as they settle into the proper quadrupedal stance of a horny beast.

Despite the new breeder instincts driving the hapless researcher into a lustful frenzy, they’ll find themselves unable to gain any self-pleasure with those useless wings. Their body is designed to breed, forcing them to seek out the company of a male who will fill them up. An extremely fertile womb will only need a few drops of their mate’s cum to begin producing a clutch of eggs. Belly rapidly expanding, they’ll soon discover wyverns have a long incubation time as they’re left lumbering about with an impossibly large brood. Eventually, even movement will become difficult as they struggle to carry a clutch so big their past exploits as a breeder are obvious to everyone. Midway through the pregnancy, they’ll find their breasts become milky… although with no hands to milk themselves they’ll need to rely on a milking machine to do it for them.

Meanwhile, they’ll find communication becoming more difficult as their nose becomes ridged and they develop a snout — try as they might to vocalize their needs, the only thing that comes out are squawks. Even Arya cannot understand them to help remove their transformative collar, leading them to be permanently stuck as a needy breeder.

Fortunately, their body is able to express their desires non-verbally: their slit begins to emit the alluring smell of a lust-crazed breeder, ensuring the shy researcher will get exactly the kind of attention she secretly craves. Taken again and again, she’ll love spending the rest of her life as an incubator for her mate, laying clutch after clutch of eggs like the good breeder slut she has become.

This transformation has a bit of everything thrown into it: eggs, quadruped, vocal restrictions, permanency, movement restrictions, milk, two-phase transformations, non-dexterous hands, slow incubation, etc.

One new concept I am experimenting with on the Wyvern TF is an ‘instinct’ system.  The instinct narration will actively tease the player, encouraging them to engage in breeding.  I think it came out pretty sexy (especially the later teases), but it does have a very different tone than the usual narration text.  After you’ve tried it, post your thoughts in the comments or discord.

Some notes on playing the Wyverness:

  • The collar is in the debug rooms.
  • Try out the octomaid (also in the debug rooms) for getting knocked up — her tease system is compatible with wyverns, and will even recognize when you lose speech ability.
  • Don’t forget you can get a milker from the trade outpost (its systems have been updated to recognize non-cows in this update).

General system changes:

  • Unhideable arms now prevent wearing shirts.

Thanks to Pyru for doing some proofreading on an earlier iteration of the Wyvern TF.  Any errors are my own.

Eventually, I would like to write a Male Wyvern Mate to go along with this TF, along with a little story and game area.  It doesn’t fit in with the story chapters, so maybe it’ll end up being the first DLC/side chapter later on.  But getting Chapter 7 done will probably come before that.

Have fun being a wyvern, and enjoy what is now the fourth egg pregnancy system in the game. 😉

[Fan Art] ‘Bad End’ by Ghostbun

This artwork is by Ghostbun, and is the first ever fan art for the game (so exciting)!

Ghostbun describes the premise for this piece as imagining what would happen in a ‘bad end’ where the player was too busy laying eggs to leave and had no choice but to submit to being Nixie’s lover forever.

(Edit: Okayman is now Ghostbun, check out the updated link and follow their new account)

r32 Released – Chapter 7 Intro & Faction Points

Chapter 7 Intro

The newly released r32 build adds the intro section of Chapter 7 (the section that occurs before you get to the aquarium).

You finally make contact with the shadowy Baosheng Group and discover Krista is becoming a cowgirl.  Will you return her to human, send her to the farm, or keep her for yourself?  These three different endings will greatly affect the future of VCiV.

This section clocks in at around 6,684 words, which means that just the intro for chapter 7 is already slightly more words than all of chapter 3.  There’s not much puzzle solving or enemy fighting in this intro though, so it should be a quick play.  Try all the endings!

Faction Points

Faction Point System

Faction Points are now properly tracked and saved.  There is a UI scene (currently in settings, but will eventually be moved somewhere more appropriate) where you can check on your current faction points and allies.

This system helps keep track of the various decisions you’ve made throughout the game and how you’ve aligned yourself with the three factions.

Note that since faction points were not previously tracked, old save files will not have any faction points displayed.

Misc Additions & Fixes

  • Support for player pronoun text variables.
  • Fixed bug where entities that should be invisible were showing up in the item popup list.
  • Several proactive fixes to save/load, including fixed bug with Krista intro replaying when it shouldn’t, Thornton status being lost and potential situation where you could be locked out of the VCiV door.

Next Build Contents

Chapter 7 is coming along well.  I ended up rewriting a lot of the minor details for the chapter 7~9 outlines, which is pretty typical for every time I’m in the early phases of a new chapter.  I think it comes out a little better each time, becoming a progressively more cohesive story that flows better chapter-to-chapter.  No changes to overall chapter topics though!

The first release of Chapter 7 will cover the events that happen before you get into the aquarium — you may recall some unusual/milky behavior from Krista, which the first part of Chapter 7 goes into details on (and lets you decide her fate!). You will also make a contact at Baosheng, who is the one to give you the aquarium mission.

Also in the next build will be proper tracking for the Faction Points system as well as a place to check your current alliances.

I’ll be closing out the discord chat vote in a few days after the Patreon pledges have gone through so new patrons have a chance to weigh in.

The usual notes about the patron cycle follow — if you’re a new patron, please take note:

It’s the first of the month, which means Patreon processing has begun and will continue updating automatically over the next few days. New backers should ensure their Patreon accounts are linked on the researcher intranet. Note even if Patreon’s website indicates a charge to you, it can still take a couple days for their website to update the data they display to me. In prior months, most people’s access is usually granted on the second of the month, with others spread out on the other days of the first week of the month.

If you’re planning to unpledge on Patreon, I recommend waiting a few days for the reconciliation process to complete before you unpledge. This is because once you unpledge, the Patreon API no longer sends any data about your purchases.

Thanks for your support!
